Fruit Platter

July 21st, 2009 by · No Comments · Uncategorized

Fruit is a big hit after a meal, especially when you are dinning with your family and guests. A fruit platter complements a full course treat. It is a delicious and beautiful serving where a large dish is decorated with various fresh fruits arranged in a pattern. There are some methods which can be followed to make the fruit platter perfect fit for an occasion. The serving bowl, in which the fruits are served, must be a simple one. Always remember that a simple and soft color highlights the fruits the most. Select ripe and firm fruits with rich aroma, and wash and dry the fruits properly before making the preparation. Fruits like apples, melons, berries, grapes, plums, apricots and kiwi go well for the best fruit platter. Not choosing soft fruits like Fuji, bananas, pears or peaches would be a wise decision as these fruits discolor quickly. All fruits should have individual place in the platter so that it gains a uniform appearance. Sprinkle mint leaves and other ingredients to garnish the fruit platter.
For different fruit platters, you have to follow different instructions. If you think to put berries in your platter, buy the stuffs just a day before the occasion as the berries ripen so quickly that it can spoil the platter if kept in refrigerator for days. Pineapple and melon must be bought at least three days before you plan to serve the fruit platter, for they ripen to reach the crescendo of flavor and taste in these days. Apricots and plums must be cut in halves or quarters for ease of chewing, and do not forget to remove the pits. Cut the kiwis in rounds after they are peeled properly. Berries can be put on the platter as a whole. If you want to put strawberries, they should be there with the green leaves to make the platter look more attractive. The apples are to be put into the mixtures of water and lemon juice. Keep the grapes in group with 7-8 grapes in each stem so that the guests find it easy to select the grapes from the platter. Once you prepare your fruit platter, serve it in cold and fresh form.

Take Advantage of Affordable Web Design Options

July 21st, 2009 by · No Comments · Uncategorized

We all know about the fast rate at which the world wide web is expanding. Given this fact, it is only natural that webmasters seek affordable web design options. Although it was not long ago when the price of that went through the roof, now you, as a webmaster, can really hope for more affordable options.
As a matter of fact, there is so much competition out there in this field, that it will not be too difficult for you to find the most convenient web design agency available for you. You can also choose to work with an independent specialist who has excellent skills and background experience.
And now, with the internet available at our fingertips, you are not forced to choose a company from your town. You can choose between all the companies nationwide, and why not, even worldwide if you find that they have better services. Negotiations will be conducted via e-mail anyway, so now we have a whole world for us to get in contact with.
You don’t have to rush with the decision and get the cheapest agency you find on the market. If you do that, you will probably end up getting a template used by thousands of other webmasters, and that will not be too pleasant. If you want a fresh fell and originality, you need to reach a little bit deeper in your pocket. Best alternative is too reach a balance between low and high prices and go in the middle, no forgetting about your own personal vision regarding your website.
Then, make sure you check the company’s background, especially if you choose a company which is not from your area. As the internet has great potential for online revenues, it does the same with the scams also. Some companies could very well give you a used template and then simply end the contact.
Prices vary, but on average, a full sized web page without any fancy animations could go up to as much as 100$ although it can be less, it can be more, of course. If you think it’s much, you can start learning web design on your own. There are a few very good web design pieces of software available out there at affordable prices, some which are really worth the investment.
Also, if you decide to go with a web design agency or individual specialist, don’t forget to explain him your own feel about how the website should look like. You need to give the designer a few pointers, starting points, if you want your site to turn out according to your own unique feel.
After all, web design can make you differentiate from your competitors. It can also make visitors intrigued about the content of your site, as well as it can make them get out in no more than 10 seconds. So you need to draw their attention, this is very important. Make sure you remember this when you are looking for affordable web design.

Winter Tires For Your Lovely Vehicle

July 21st, 2009 by · No Comments · Uncategorized

Coming straight to business: if you really love your vehicle you should use more than one set of tires and wheels for different seasons. You may use a particular type of tire all through the year and possibly with good performance. But you will soon notice significant changes in the performance of your car and that is on the negative side. If on the other hand you are wise enough to choose the tires according to seasonal needs, your vehicle will give you best services even during worst driving conditions. So invest in at least two types of tires: summer tires for summer and snow tires for winters.
Winter tires are specially designed to provide you a safe and hassle free driving experience in the snow covered winter days. The winter tires are unique in their use of special rubber compound that are softer than those used in the summer days. Thus these tires give your vehicle better grip on ice and snow. In some tires you will find on the peaked mountain some snowflake symbol. Buy the tires marked with this symbol for the winter uses as only these tires meet specific snow traction performance standards. You can safely use these types of tires even in the severe snow conditions. The other types of tires are stiffened and lose gripping power as the temperature touches zero degree Celsius mark. As the temperature drops down, this lack of traction on icy roads may prove to extremely dangerous.
If you live in a region where snow covered winter is the rule, a winter tire is a must have for your vehicle. The winter tires have special tread that work for improved traction. This empowers the tire to rid itself of snow as it rolls on the road. The winter tires of the yesteryears used to be noisy. They had better grip over snow but had poor traction in the dry and wet. But today’s winter tires are more technologically advanced and they are able to deal with not only snow but they are also able to handle cold, dry, wet or muddy driving conditions.
It is recommended that you should replace the winter tires as spring approaches, as the tires can be damaged by becoming too soft due to the heat of the warm weather.
It is recommended that always install winter tires in sets of four. It will ensure maximum control and stability of your vehicle in winter conditions.

Clairvoyants & Their Types

July 21st, 2009 by · No Comments · Uncategorized

The word clairvoyance with its associated words ‘clairaudience’ and ‘clairsentience’ comes from the 17th century French words – ‘Clair’ meaning clear and ‘Voyant’ means seeking. Clairvoyance is a sort of ‘Hypnotism’ according to the French.
The ability to perceive information without the use of the five known human senses is known as Clairvoyant. Clairvoyance, Clairaudience, Clairsentience — are all forms of ESP or Psychic Ability to see, hear, and feel an object, circumstance or an event by paranormal means. Hundreds of unexplained events take place all around us everyday and in most cases meaningful explanation about the event comes from an unlikely source … Psychic Reading.
Types of Clairvoyance
There are basically four types of clairvoyance:
1.Psychological Clairvoyance
2.Spatial Clairvoyance
3.Astral Clairvoyance
4.True Spiritual Clairvoyance.
Psychological Clairvoyance
This is a term which we have invented ourselves to cover a certain type of clairvoyance. Most of us are very much familiar with those curious attractions and repulsions which we often feel for many people. There are some people whom we instinctively like or dislike, and for such a feeling, very often, we are unable to provide a valid reason. This is due to the perception of psychological clairvoyance. The psychological clairvoyance may also be termed as ‘psychic counseling’.
Spatial Clairvoyance
This type is also known as clairvoyance in space and time. Psychometry is in itself clairvoyance in time, using an object as a starting point and as a point of reference. Actually, this type can also be exercised without using an object, but concentration upon it helps to keep the clairvoyant faculty working within those limits. As we say, the object can be omitted and many people can exercise this clairvoyance in time without practically having any blank idea of what they are doing. Some people even find that, although they are not aware of possessing any psychic power, yet, when they are touching old furniture or antiques, dim pictures and emotions arises in their mind and automatically they become nostalgic. This dim clairvoyant perception is far more common than is generally realized.
Astral Clairvoyance
The next type of clairvoyance we have called ‘Astral Clairvoyance.’ By this we mean the perception of apparently living beings that have no physical body. The Devas or the ‘shinning ones’, the ‘Lordly Ones’ of Celtic tradition, the Spirits of the elements; all live and have their being in the etheric and astral realms. You may see some of these entities as your clairvoyance begins to unfold, and their activities form a fascinating field of study for the clairvoyant investigator. It is in this field of clairvoyance that you need to exert great care, for you will be making contacts with living beings of many different types, and not all of them will be friendly. This great world of astral is also known as the World of Illusion.
True Spiritual Clairvoyance
We have now come to the last and final type of clairvoyance i.e. the Spiritual Clairvoyance. In the system of thought to which we give our allegiance, virtue, sanity and true spirituality lies within the purview of spiritual clairvoyance. At the end all life, all consciousness, all faculties, come from the Divine, but all work is manifest under immutable natural law.
For a layman who is in search for a psychic at times of crisis can never be in a state of mind to discriminate between a fake and a genuine psychic. On his/her part it will be wise not to disclose any personal information to the clairvoyant. It is best to ask the reader directly about personal relationship, finances, business, etc. If they are able to pick up on the correct situation quickly and impulsively, then it is known that he/she is a genuine psychic reader.

Free Versus Paid Membership Sites

July 20th, 2009 by · No Comments · Uncategorized

Membership sites, both free ones and paid sites, are a great way to offer continuity for your customers as well as your business. Your members get to return to a trusted place for content they need. And you get a continuous flow of traffic, and income potential.
The model you decide upon for your membership site is of the utmost importance and the one you choose depends upon your objectives. There are basically two types of membership sites. There are free sites and there are paid for sites. The two types of membership sites have one thing is common. Their memberships are made up of people who share a common need or have a common interest.
However, free membership sites don’t have quite all the advantages of paid ones, and vice versa. Let’s take a closer look.
Free Membership Sites
Making a business model work financially with a free membership site is a must; otherwise, the site will in all likelihood fold after while since no one wants to work for free. So monetizing strategies need incorporated into the structure from the beginning to bring in revenue for the publishing team.
Some ways to generates revenue are:
- Sell your own products and services to your members through the membership site and any communications: email promotions, ezines, teleseminars, etc.
- Sell affiliate products in a similar manner
- Create content from your members that you can sell to them; for example, host a webinar and sell the recording.
- Place ads up in the membership area and include them in communications, too: Adsense, banners, classifieds, invite members to sponsor paid ads, etc.
- Sell upgraded paid membership levels that offer more content and value.
Paid Membership Sites
While on the other hand, paid membership sites immediately begin working for themselves, generating cash flow, they may bring in less traffic than free sites because of the cost factor. So attracting leads, prospects and new members will be a little more of an ongoing challenge.
Top ways to attract new people to your paid membership site include:
- Entice people with free items that have your membership information, contact information and website link inside: free reports, ebooks, ecourses, ezines.
- Think and act: viral marketing – invite others to pass along your free tools so that more people come into your marketing mix – fast.
- Multi-media works wonders, too. Offer short teleseminars and other types of workshops to draw the attention of interested parties. Include a free trial membership and other goodies for attendees.
Regardless of which type of membership site your choose, both offer a variety of earning possibilities. Just remember that offering good content in both keeps people coming back for more. Your members will learn to trust you and will keep coming back for more of the same. So don’t let them down!

Forensic – A Study

July 20th, 2009 by · No Comments · Uncategorized

In one simple sentence, forensic science is the application of a number of sciences to find out information that is required by the law in the process of administering justice. The science of forensics is ultimately meant to bring a criminal to book and to deconstruct a crime scenario so that everything comes to light. Understandably, forensic science has to cover a lot of ground and the subdivisions of the subject are fairly broad.
Ballistics, toxicology, psychology, photography, odontology, epistemology, entomology, forensic engineering, forensic anthropology, forensic economics and forensic anthropology are a few of the disciplines that are used by the broad subject of forensic science.
History has it that the use of fingerprints to reveal identity was first used in the 7th century. It is a precursor of the modern-day finger-print check or retina-check. According to Soleiman, an Arabic merchant, this finger print check was used to safeguard commercial transactions. A debtor’s fingerprint was affixed on a bill and was kept by the lender. The bill was acknowledged as valid document that marked the debt.
The year was 1248 and the country was China. Song Ci, wrote the book ‘Xi Yuan Ji Lu’ which is still read as the ‘Collected cases of Injustice Rectified’. It was a book of its own stature. It dealt with the use of medicine and entomology for detecting criminal acts.
It has many fascinating accounts. One recounts the unraveling of a murder committed with the help of a sickle. The investigator told the people to bring their sickles to an open spot. The sickle that had blood on it attracted the flies. The same book speaks about how to distinguish between drowning and strangulation. A drowned person is going to have water in his or her lungs. Similarly, a person who is strangulated is sure to bear broken neck cartilage marks.
Sherlock Holmes, the immensely popular fictional character created by Arthur Conan Doyle, relies a lot on the forensic science to figure out, who has done it? Actually, Doyle based his hero on a real life flesh and blood character. Joseph Bell, the gifted surgeon at the University of Edinburgh had taught Doyle medicine. It was his traits that Doyle imbibed in the creation of his super detective.
The comic strip Dick Tracy also featured a popular detective, who used the science of forensic to bust crime.
The science of forensics has evolved a lot, since the days of its inception.

The Exotic Flavors of Malay Cuisine

July 20th, 2009 by · No Comments · Uncategorized

Malay cuisines are one of the world’s most popular as well as unique cuisines. Malay cuisine is yummy and exciting, and is an amalgamation of cuisines of three main ethnic groups, such as, Malay, Indian, and Chinese.
A strong influence of Thai, Indonesian, and Middle East culture is also prevalent in Malay cuisines. In other words, almost all racial groups have contributed much to the Malaysian gastronomic heritage. With such an amazing as well as sumptuous blend of cuisines available in the country, no wonder why Malaysia is considered the meeting point of both the Western and Eastern cultures.
Malay cuisines are exotic and are mostly spicy. They are also available in a range of other flavors, such as, sweet, sharp, and sour, which are created through the use of items including ginger, tamarind, cloves, lime, and lemon grass.
As mentioned earlier, Malay cuisine is a combination of Malay, Indian, and Chinese cooking styles, the fusion of which has led to the origin of several individual cuisines, among which most popular are Nyonya, Kedah, and Kelantanese. Nyonya cuisine is a fine blend of cooking styles of Malay and Chinese, and is mostly characterized by spicy, sour, and pungent flavors.
Additionally, this type of cuisine mostly consists of a range of spicy items such as turmeric and galangal, apart from ingredients like pandan leaf and laksa leaf. Kelantanese cuisines are akin to Thai cuisine. But, Kedah cuisine is highly influenced by Indian cooking styles and spices.
An integral element found in almost all Malay cuisines is rice. Noodles also form an important ingredient of most of the Malay cuisines. Also, popular for the preparation of Malay cuisine are ingredients such as mutton and beef. In addition, seafood items such as shrimp, squid, and prawns are also used for the preparation of Malay cuisine.
Since majority of the Malay cuisines are spicy, ingredients such as coriander, nutmeg, garlic, and clovers, are widely used in dishes. In most of the traditional style Malay cuisine, the essence of ingredients such as daun kemangi, bunga kantan, and pandan leaves can be experienced. Further, in order to provide a unique flavor to Malay cuisines, dried spices including fenugreek, cumin, fennel, and coriander are added. Also, found in excess in many of the Malay cuisines are items such as coconut milk, fresh chilli paste, onion, cucumber, and garlic. Above all, majority of Malay cuisine include the increased usage of Belachan, which is a paste like item made from dried baby shrimps. Belachan is usually added to provide a rich taste and flavor to dishes like gravies and sauces.
One of the specialties of Malay cuisine is that such ingredients as pork, alcohol, and non-halal meat are not used for its preparation. Another unique feature of Malay cuisine is its sweetish tinge due to the adding of a small amount of sugar along with salt. Discussed further are some of the most popular types of Malay dishes.
Satay is perhaps the most popular of the Malay cuisines. It is prepared with any of the meat items including mutton or chicken, which in turn is marinated with spice and grilled over charcoal. Then, it is served with items such as cucumber, onion, and peanut gravy.
Another popular Malay cuisine is sambal udang, whose prime ingredient is shrimps or prawns, prepared with Belachan, tamarind paste, tomatoes, and chillies. Beef Redang is also a great Malay cuisine that is primarily prepared during festivals such as Ramzan and Malay New Year.
Other popular Malay dishes are Ayam Masak Merah, in which chicken pieces are fried and cooked in tomato sauce; nasi lemak; lontong – a vegetable dish cooked with coconut milk; nasi goreng -a kind of fried rice cooked with prawns, vegetables, and egg; roti canai, a type of crispy pancake made from wheat flour; and ulam – an appetizing dish made using raw herbs and plants. Malay specialties also include a variety of noodles and vermicelli dishes, such as, laksa, which is served with gravy-like seafood soup.
Above all, Malay cuisine is much famed for its desserts, such as, Pulut Hitam -a rice porridge made from sago; Air Batu Campur (ABC) -a desserts prepared with items like jelly grass, sweet corn, condensed milk, and red beans; and cendol. Let it be any type of Malay desserts, ingredients such as palm sugar and coconut milk as well as freshly grated coconut are considered staple for its preparation.
Malaysia is home to a range of restaurants and food stalls, each of them serving a diverse range of Malay cuisines.

Pros and Cons of Flash-based Sites

July 20th, 2009 by · No Comments · Uncategorized

Flash-based sites have been a craze since the past few years, and as Macromedia compiles more and more great features into Flash, we can only predict there will be more and more flash sites around the Internet. However, Flash based sites have been disputed to be bloated and unnecessary. Where exactly do we draw the line? Here’s a simple breakdown.
The good:
Interactivity
Flash’s Action script opens up a vast field of possibilities. Programmers and designers have used Flash to create interactive features ranging from very lively feedback forms to attractive Flash-based games. This whole new level of interactivity will always leave visitors coming back for more.
A standardized site
With Flash, you do not have to worry about cross-browser compatibility. No more woes over how a certain CSS code displays differently in Internet Explorer, Firefox and Opera. When you position your site elements in Flash, they will always appear as they are as long as the user has Flash Player installed.
Better expression through animation
In Flash, one can make use of its animating features to convey a message in a much more efficient and effective way. Flash is a lightweight option for animation because it is vector based (and hence smaller file sizes) as opposed to real “movie files” that are raster based and hence much larger in size.
The bad and the ugly:
The Flash player
People have to download the Flash player in advance before they can view Flash movies, so by using Flash your visitor range will decrease considerably because not everyone will be willing to download the Flash player just to view your site. You’ll also have to put in additional work in redirecting the user to the Flash download page if he or she doesn’t have the player installed.
Site optimization
If your content was presented in Flash, most search engines wouldn’t be able to index your content. Hence, you will not be able to rank well in search engines and there will be less traffic heading to your site.
Loading time
Users have to wait longer than usual to load Flash content compared to regular text and images, and some visitors might just lose their patience and click the Back button. The longer your Flash takes to load, the more you risk losing visitors.
The best way to go is to use Flash only when you absolutely need the interactivity and motion that comes with it. Otherwise, use a mixture of Flash and HTML or use pure text if your site is purely to present simple textual and graphical information. What ever your choice, if your site is to rank well then you must stick with html.
The advantages of flash are purely visual, but, ironically, if your site is pure plain html and you get ranked well, those visitors who get there might not be willing to buy from you because they don’t like the site design…and how do you design your site to look more appealing? Using flash…

The Secret Is No Secret

July 20th, 2009 by · No Comments · Uncategorized

By now you’ve probably seen or heard of a movie called The Secret.
It has been prominently featured on the Oprah TV show and has been aggressively marketed online.
The Secret is described as a self-help film and uses a documentary format to present “The Law of Attraction”. The movie has been reported as a “self-help phenomenon”, a “publishing phenomenon” and a “cultural phenomenon”.
The Secret contains wisdom from modern-day teachers – men and women who have used it to achieve health, wealth, and happiness. The movie makes you aware of your power to change by using The Law of Attraction.
The Law of Attraction is the essence of the film’s message. The Law of Attraction says that what you predominantly think about is what you attract in your life. It implies that anything is within your field of possibility if you desire it strongly, believe in it, and take action towards it.
The movie makes it sound like all of these revelations are new. However, they are not.
The New Thought book The Science of Getting Rich, published in the early 1900s, is the source of inspiration for the film and even that book was preceded by numerous other ones including the 1906 book Thought Vibration or the Law of Attraction in the Thought World by William Walker Atkinson and The Master Key System written in 1912 by Charles F Haanel.
It has been rumored that The Master Key System was the book that Microsoft’s Bill Gates read when he was a college student and paved the way for him to become a multi-billionaire.
Many of these older books focus on how to use The Law of Attraction to attract wealth.
Money is a medium of exchange that is used by all people in a civilized world for product or services.
Money on its own is neither good nor bad. But maybe you have been taught that seeking money is bad?
People who associate money with greed and evil will never see the good money can do since the Law of Attraction will not bring positive experiences involving money into their lives. However, when you properly get into the mindset of attracting wealth, money will come to you so fast and furiously that you’ll wonder where it’s been hiding all these lean years.
It is all to do with where your intention lies.
The Secret is all about the power of intention. The “secret” is two-fold: first, the power of thinking good thoughts, and second, the fact that we hold the key to our happiness or unhappiness. The more you can feel your intention, the more power you are attracting it with.
You’ll begin to understand the hidden, untapped power that’s within you, and this revelation can bring joy to every aspect of your life.
Is all this really new information? I hope you can see that it is not.
As long as you keep in mind that The Law of Attraction has been known about and written about for thousands of years, The Secret does contain information that can be life altering but you can certainly look elsewhere for the same information, often for free and in much more detail.
